How do I create a monthly webinar series?

To create a monthly webinar series that permits learners to enroll in a full year's worth of sessions in one sitting, you will need to create a separate virtual instructor led training (VILT) learning resource for each monthly webinar topic.  Learners will then enroll into each separate resource.


Process overview:


Create a table


Create a table in Microsoft Word or Excel to track the monthly webinar series details. As described later in the process, you will insert this information into the description field of the learning resources and possibly into your webinar communications. 


 


Create the VILT resources and facilitated sessions


Follow the process to create a virtual instructor led resource and corresponding facilitated session. 


Create one resource for each monthly topic.  



  Note

Selecting "Allow Multiple Enrollments" on the overview tab of the learning resource does not allow multiple simultaneous enrollments into the same resource. “Multiple” refers to a learner completing one enrollment date and having the access to enroll into the class again after the completion of the first enrollment.  Otherwise, learners can only reschedule; they cannot enroll into multiple session dates at once unless the initial date is part of a series of sessions e.g. day 1, day 2, etc. 


Create a facilitated session for each learning resource.



Use the Link Builder Wizard to create a link to each resource in the series.  Paste the url into the table you created earlier.


  


Finalize the table


Modify the table for publication. Embed the Link Builder url into the text for enrolling into each monthly seminar.  



Modify the description of each learning resource


Return to each VILT resource and edit the description field.  Include a message about the full series and the enrollment instructions.  Modify the enrollment link instructions for the current month (for example, Select the session date below and then select "Enroll Me.").
